Together, we can make a difference and save lives.

Aaron Wagner-Sturdy, a 16-year-old from Gresham, Oregon, was killed by a
Tri-Met train while crossing the MAX crosswalk at Gresham City Hall in 2003. Since then his mother, Darla Sturdy, has fought tirelessly to improve the safety of rail crossings and to have a overside board for the drivers and light rail.

Now, she needs your help, and she can also help you.

With your support, tragedies like the one that took Aaron’s life can be prevented. We urge you to browse through this website to learn more about what you can do to help save lives, and what I can do to help you.

Support
With support from our local legislators, I went to the State Capital in Salem Oregon, I went for six months and met with every legislator to assist with my plans to pass SB 829. This is a study of every crosswalk thru out the entier Tri-Met Light Rail Line. I had to become a lobbyist for my son, I succeeded with my goal and pass this law in 2007. After the study was done it proved that they needed to change over 60 crosswalks. In March of 2009, the city of Gresham and Mayor Shane Bemis partnered up with me. I now ask for support in creating a Citizen Safety Review Board for Tri-Met. Which will aid everyone in the Metropolitan area.
